Tirana looks chaotic until someone tells you its story — then every square and bunker falls into place. This private tour pairs the city's essentials with its two most striking sights: Bunk'Art and the Dajti Express.
How the day works
Pick-up around 9:00. Morning in the centre: Skanderbeg Square, the Et'hem Bey Mosque, the Pyramid, the Blloku district where communism's elite lived behind fences. Then Bunk'Art 1, the dictator's atomic bunker turned museum — five floors underground. After lunch, the Dajti Express cable car: 15 minutes floating up to the mountain terrace for the panorama of the whole plain. Home by late afternoon.

Why with a guide
Tirana's sights are scattered and its history is invisible without context: the same concrete block is just a building, or the bunker where the regime planned to survive nuclear war. A private guide connects the dots — and answers the questions the audio guides skip.
When to go and how to book
All year — the perfect first or last day of any Albania trip, and the best bad-weather option. The cable car closes in high wind (we check before departure). Date and group size on WhatsApp.
Frequently asked questions
Are Bunk'Art and cable car tickets included?
No — Bunk'Art is about €5 and the cable car about €12 return per person, paid on the spot. Everything else (vehicle, guide, planning) is included.
How much walking is there?
Easy: 2–3 km of flat city walking, plus as much as you like inside the bunker museum. Suitable for all ages.
Bunk'Art 1 or Bunk'Art 2?
We recommend Bunk'Art 1 — the huge five-storey original outside the centre, on the way to the cable car. If you prefer the smaller Bunk'Art 2 downtown, just say so.
Can we add the communist history tour?
Yes — this tour pairs naturally with our walking Communist History Tour (from €30) on a different day, or we can merge highlights into one longer private day.
