There are two ways to see Tirana from above: the cable car, and leaping off the mountain under a paraglider with a professional strapped behind you. One of these you will describe at dinners for the rest of your life.
What the experience is
You meet the pilots (meeting point confirmed on WhatsApp — usually near the Dajti Ekspres lower station or a pick-up in the centre) and ride up to the launch area on Mount Dajti, about 1,300 metres above the city. Briefing is five minutes and reassuring: a few steps of run, then the wing lifts you and the world goes quiet. Fifteen to twenty-five minutes in the air — thermals permitting — floating over the forested slope with all of Tirana spread out like a model: Skanderbeg Square, the pyramid, the park, the plain stretching to the sea. Your pilot controls everything; your job is to look, grin, and hold the selfie stick if you ordered the video. Landing is on a meadow at the mountain's foot, where the adrenaline slowly converts into the best mood of your trip.

The honest weather talk
Paragliding is weather-dependent, full stop: wind direction and strength decide everything, and some mornings simply do not fly. Our pilots check conditions the evening before and the morning of your flight, and they cancel honestly — nobody profits from a marginal launch. Book early in your stay so there is room to reschedule; May, June and September have the most flyable days; July–August fly best in the morning. If your day is cancelled, you move to the next flyable one or the operator refunds.
