How the day works
Pick-up around 8:00 (passports needed), 1h45 north across the border. Morning at Stari Bar: the aqueduct, the fortress walls, churches and hammams of a city abandoned in 1878 — with the famous Old Olive Tree, 2,240 years old, below. Lunch in the new town, then 30 minutes to Ulcinj: the walled old town over the sea and, in season, beach time on the long sand. Home by evening.

The Montenegro nobody queues for
Kotor gets the cruise ships; Stari Bar and Ulcinj get the connoisseurs. This is also the culturally closest corner of Montenegro to Albania — Ulcinj's old town speaks Albanian first — which makes the stories twice as rich. And the drive is a full hour shorter than the bay tour.
